Subjects Taught

I received a BS degree in Speech Correction in 1982 from Columbia College in Columbia, SC.  I have taken graduate classes at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.

I began my teaching career as a Speech Pathologist in Laurens School District 56, where I taught for four years.  After moving to the Columbia, SC area, I took a job closer to home in Newberry County School District as a Speech Pathologist, where I taught for 16 years.  I moved to Pawleys Island in 2001, and have worked as a Speech Pathologist for Georgetown County School District since that time.

I am a native South Carolinian, originally from Newberry County.  I have lived in Pawleys Island since 2001, but recently moved to the Andrews area.  I am married to David Godwin.  I have two grown daughters, Meredith and Olivia.  Meredith is a first grade teacher in Charlotte, NC, and Olivia is employed with a law firm in Columbia, SC as a paralegal. I have two step-daughters and two precious grandchildren. Some of my favorite things to do are reading, traveling, and playing games.
