I graduated from Socastee High School, and began my professional educational background began with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Coastal Carolina College/USC Coastal. After teaching for several years, I earned my Master's Degree from Cambridge College in Boston, MA. I have added and extra 30 hours of classes to my Master's, as well as obtaining my Gifted and Talented certification. In 2007, I became Nationally Board Certified in Social Studies. I am a Highly Qualified teacher, as well as Middle School Certified. As a lifelong learner, I have set the goal of higher education and plan to one day earn my Doctorate.

I began teaching in Georgetown County at Choppee Middle School in 1998. After Choppee and Pleasant Hill merged and became Carvers Bay Middle School, I began a long and wonderful journey as a social studies teacher. After almost 16 years of teaching, I have had more than 1500 students touch my life, and I have fallen in love with each and every one of them! I am married to my husband Michael Myers (yes, that's really his name,) and have a very active and sweet 6 year old daughter named Marissa. I have embarked on a new journey, joining the staff of Georgetown Middle School as an ESOL teacher. I have a passion for teaching and a love of learning.
