Continuing Education: Coastal Carolina University, Georgia State University, The Citadel, Charleston Southern University, Columbus State University, College of Charleston

I have been a Special Education teacher since 1977, beginning my career in Atlanta at a state facility for severe and profound students. From there I moved to Marietta High School and was the first self-contained teacher for the TMD program. After moving back to Atlanta from Pawleys Island, I taught at Marietta Middle School in the Learning Disabilities program. When we returned to the coast, I joined the Special Education department at Georgetown High. This is my seventh year at Georgetown Middle School working with the SPecial Abilities class.

I am so happy to be able to say I LOVE coming to school every day and working with my incredible students!

I am a native of Columbus, Ga. My husband, Rick, and I lived in Pawleys Island from 1982-1984 and then moved to Atlanta for 18 years before moving back to Pawleys Island. We have two sons: Larkin is a recent graduate of the College of Charleston. He lives and works in Charleston. Our older son, Patten, and his wife, Laura, also live in Charleston. Patten is an internet technology specialist and Laura is an elementary autism teacher. We have a beautiful seven year old Huskie named Nala. I love to ride my bike and walk at the beach.
