I majored in English at Warren Wilson College and then decided to go back to school and received my degree in Education.

Since then, I've taught for 20 years- 14 were at Georgetown High School and the last 6 have been at Georgetown Middle School! :)

This is my 6th year at Georgetown Middle School and my 5th year as a 7th grade ELA  teacher.

I've been working towards my masters and so far have my Bachelor's + 18 including a being certified in 7th through 12th in ELA and English Honors.  I've also taught at Howard Adult Education Center in the summers. And enjoyed this past summer taking a Teaching with Technology class to enhance and improve my lessons and teaching.

Born in South Carolina in 1970, I have spent most of my life living and studying in different parts of the South.  I have been married 21 years and have three wonderful children.  My twin daughters graduated from Andrews High School 4 years ago and my son is in 11th grade here at GHS!

I love to garden, travel, and read!  In fact, my dream is to have my own library in my house- one that is two stories high!

I also LOVE to teach; in fact, it is my passion.  I get excited every year at the thought of turning my students into life-long learners!
